Joe Gomez has suffered another injury setback after not playing a single minute of football under Jürgen Klopp.
The 19 year old suffered a season ending injury back in October which saw him ruled out of any football for the remainder of the 2016/17 season. When Gomez signed from Charlton he was an unknown and fans were sceptical about having the then 18-year old play for Liverpool. As you already know he acquitted himself superbly in the few games he played before his injury.
His superb form under Brendan Rodgers meant that Alberto Moreno had to be content with a spot on the bench and get used to 10 minute cameos on the wing.
When Gomez suffered his knee injury almost every supporter was dismayed for they young lad as he was just beginning to settle in. The result was the return of Moreno at left back and that turned out disastrously.
Unfortunately for Gomez, lightning has struck twice as the Englishman has picked up another crippling injury. It is being reported by The Independent that Liverpool’s promising young defender has picked up an Achilles problem.
The full extent of the injury is being investigated but it is understood that he will be unavailable for Liverpool’s season opener at Arsenal on the 14th of August.
