Wednesday brings us news of Alexandre Lacazette, Piotr Zielinski and Mario Balotelli.
Piotr Zielinki’s transfer to Liverpool, which once seemed done and dusted, seems to be completely unlikely now. According to TalkSPORT, Napoli are the strong favourites to sign the Polish midfielder.
The Serie A outfit were previously interested in singing Axel Witsel but the Belgium’s wages appear to have turned the Italians off to a move. As such, Napoli have devoted their full attention to signing Zielinski.
It has already been suggested that Napoli have had an offer for the Udinese player accepted and that it’s just a case of negotiating personal terms with Zielinski. If Klopp is a real fan then he will need to act very quickly if Liverpool are to have any chance of signing the Poland international.
Closer to home, we have news that Mario Balotelli could be off to Sampdoria. The Italian forward snubbed the Italian club last summer when they tried to loan him from Liverpool but it’s being reported by David Anderson of the Mirror is reporting that they are still interested in acquiring his services.
Club President Massimo Ferrero says Balotelli has himself to blame for his backward footballing career. Liverpool have told Balotelli to look for a new club as he doesn’t have a place in Jürgen Klopp’s plans for the future.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
With Liverpool likely to sell both Benteke and Balotelli it is possible that a new forward may be brought in with the combined money generated by their transfers.
The Mirror are also reporting that Liverpool could be interested in signing French forward Alexandre Lacazette. The Lyon striker scored 23 goals in 43 appearances last season – more than any Liverpool player. That being said, it is France’s rather uncompetitive Ligue 1 but any player used to scoring goals is a player worth having.
French newscaster, Le 10 Sport are claiming that Jürgen Klopp could make a move to sign Lacazette once Benteke signs for Crystal Palace.
The Frenchman would be a great addition to the side, not only because of his goal contribution, but because of his speed and link up play which will come in handy in Liverpool’s already promising attacking lineup. He would certainly suit Klopp’s preferred style of pressurising opposition defenders from the front line with his pace allowing him to close down at speed.
However, at this point it just speculation as a transfer hasn’t been completed for either of Benteke or Balotelli. He would definitely be and ideal replacement and wouldn’t cost too much.
That wraps up Wednesday’s transfer rumours. Have a good day and I will see you tomorrow with the latest media creations. Cheers, folks!
