Sadio Mané’s much publicized move to Liverpool is expected to be announced today, which should take the misery away from England’s dreadful Euro 2016 exit last night.
The Senegal international reportedly had a medical at Melwood yesterday according to Sky Sports. Southampton’s star player for the 2015/16 season will be Jürgen Klopp’s first real attacking signing as Liverpool manager.
As always, the coming season always holds promise with the ability to open a fresh book and write a new story. Mané represents this optimism for Liverpool fans. While many don’t believe the pacy winger has what it takes to succeed at Liverpool, the vast majority have his back as he will be a Red in a matter of hours.
Mamadou Sakho spoke glowingly of his soon-to-be new teammate and predicts that Mané will love being at Liverpool every bit as much as the club’s honorary Scouser has:
“We met two or three times on the pitch and in the tunnel,” he told RTS 1 en Direct in Senegal.
“It’s already been four years that I’ve been at this fantastic club and he will discover that by himself.”
Sakho is waiting upon UEFA to learn his fate after failing a random drugs test last season. The Frenchman, who missed out on going to France for the Euros, loves Liverpool fans despite wavering support after the positive drug test result.
