A new week brings a new barrage of transfer rumours including something a little more concrete!

It would be appear as though Sadio Mané is on Merseyside to have a medical at the club’s training campus before his move to the club.

The pacy Senegalese international has been the subject of media speculation for a few weeks after being linked with Liverpool.

Sky Sports are reporting that Mané is having a medical at Melwood today ahead of his big money move to Liverpool.

Personally, I would be pleased to pay an extra £6 million to make sure that Liverpool’s most expensive signing of all time isn’t Andy Carrol. Although, that’s neither here nor there so I’ll move on.

Mané will provide Liverpool with some much needed pace in attack and will slot into Klopp’s preferred style of play with ease. It helps that Southampton have played with a style of high-pressing for a few years so it won’t be much of a change.

In other, less substantial news, Borussia Dortmund’s Neven Subotić has announced his desire to leave the German club after 8 years of service.

The Serbian took to Facebook to express his wish to move on:

“Dear friends, during the last year I realized that my love for the game of football in an active role is too big to just be able to see it from outside. Football is an important part of my life. I love it and I can’t be without it,” he wrote.

“I am in the best age for a football player and I want to use my time to improve myself and my team every day. And I want to have the feeling I am needed and I can give everything for my club. That is what I am thinking about.

“I do not want to earn my money on the bench, but to be a active part of the history like I was until last year. I hope you can understand that.

“Borussia Dortmund is the club of my heart and it will always be. Yours, Neven.”

Naturally, being a former and trusted member of Klopp’s Dortmund side he has been automatically assigned a role in Liverpool’s lacking back four.
