In Monday’s transfer roundup the presence of ‘silly season’ is officially confirmed. We range from Paul Pogba to Mateo Kovacic and also Ings is staying at Liverpool.

It is pretty easy to ascertain what is a real link with credibility and what is absolute bollocks. Paul Pogba being mentioned in the same breath as Liverpool is, well, rubbish.

Mino Raiola fancies himself something of a ‘super agent.’ He represent players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Liverpool’s very own Martin Skrtel and Paul Pogba. Raiola, who reckons he is a bit like Jorge Mendes, seems intent on creating confusion and uncertainty around his client’s future.

He seems to be juggling a bit too much with talk surrounding Martin Skrtel’s apparent transfer awfully quiet. Skrtel, and also Pogba’s agent, has for whatever reason mentioned Liverpool as one of the teams he talks to the Frenchman about.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Raiola said,“It is not a secret. Every year I meet with Madrid, but also with United, Barcelona, City, Liverpool, Chelsea.

“It’s my job. In the last two years my relationship with Real Madrid is again clear and professional.

“Now there is serious dialogue, it’s positive. They know my character and how I am.”

Right, good one. On to the next rumour.

According to James Pearce, of the Liverpool Echo, Jürgen Klopp has no intention of bringing Mateo Kovačić to Merseyside.

This report is quite disappointing, really. The Croatian would have brought some much needed creativity and guile to Liverpool’s central midfield. However, previous indications that Liverpool had submitted a 20 million bid for Madrid’s want-away midfielder seem like the usual rubbish between May and August.

Fans will continue to be deprived of a marquee signing but there is good news; Danny Ings is not leaving Liverpool despite bizarre rumours that the Englishman would be off to join Rangers after only playing 6 games for the club.

It is hard to believe that Klopp would let Ings leave after expressing his admiration for Ings as both a player and a person.

That’s all we have for you today, folks. We’ll see you tomorrow to bring you whatever weird and wonderful news there may be.
