Liverpool are going to begin talks with Emre Can to keep the talented midfielder at the club for many years to come, according to The Guardian.
Emre Can was one the standout performers for Liverpool last season. The young German was a catalyst for the the dramatic comeback against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Jürgen Klopp is obviously keen to hold onto his compatriot with Can widely considered as Liverpool’s future. He certainly still has his best years ahead of him, having only just turned 22 in January. It’s encouraging that the spine of the team are young, vibrant and most importantly – talented.
Here is how the Liverpool fan-base reacted to the news that Can has earned a contract renewal. For the most part the response was positive:
Liverpool will be offering Emre Can a new contract which will expire in 2020.
