Liverpool will find it increasingly difficult to hold onto Philippe Coutinho if his Brazil teammates continuously suggest he should move to another club.
Filipe Luis is the latest member of Brazil’s national football team to publicly urge Coutinho to switch clubs in search of Champions League Football. Dani Alves was the first after he suggested that Liverpool’s prized midfielder has what it takes to play for Barcelona.
According to the Metro, Luis said:
“Coutinho asked me how it feels to play in a Champions League final.
“He’d be welcomed at Atletico, he has the quality.
“Coutinho is amazing and can make the difference. We discussed that he can play for top Champions League sides.”
Atletico Madrid’s left back said he spoke to Coutinho after his superb hatrick performance against Haiti in the Copa America.

The news is extremely distressing as it is the second player from Brazil’s senior team to publicly urge Coutinho to make a switch for European football. Dani Alves also said that Liverpool’s number 10 would be best served to move elsewhere.
Jürgen Klopp will be under a lot of stress if he is to keep a hold of Coutinho. Regardless of how much pressure the club may come under to keep hold of the Brazilian I don’t think there is a man better equipped to convince Coutinho to stay at Liverpool than Klopp.
Liverpool are going through a period of change and the future under Klopp is exciting. I am sure he will tell Coutinho that he will receive more adoration and appreciation at Liverpool than anywhere else in the world.
Marca are reporting that Barcelona are interested in acquiring the 23 year old’s services. He would be a good fit at Barcelona and you can see the appeal. There is the possibility that with some guidance he could become Andres Iniesta’s successor at the Nou Camp. Neymar even said back last year:
“I can envision myself alongside Coutinho because he is a great player and his style suits Barcelona,”
Liverpool will do incredibly well to come out of the summer transfer window with Philippe Coutinho still part of the team. He is crucial to next season’s aspirations of Champions League qualification or even a title challenge. And if that’s not a good enough reason – fans have come to adore him for his passion and magic on the ball.
