Daniel Sturridge has returned to England training after news emerged that he was injured prior to the friendly win over Australia.
After my initial outrage at Sturridge getting injured with England it would seem he has returned to training. The BBC are reporting the forward’s latest return from injury.
Jürgen Klopp managed Sturridge’s fitness to perfection for the last 5 months and I sincerely hope Roy Hodgson doesn’t mess up his good work.
The European Championships can serve as a good opportunity for Sturridge to put a good run of fitness together in a competitive setup before Liverpool’s pre-season regime. Klopp will be praying that his deadliest forward can emerge from the Euros unscathed and on-form.
If Hodgson takes Sturridge with him to France it will mean England could feature a potential strike-force of Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Sturridge. Of course, this isn’t FIFA 16 and Hodgson is the manager so it’s more likely to be Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford up front.
If Sturridge doesn’t get selected for the final squad, as disappointing as it will be for Sturridge himself, it will be great news for Liverpool as it rules out risk of injury. The fitter Liverpool’s number 15 is next season the greater chance of any sort of achievement.
