According to Lorient vice-president Alex Hayes, Liverpool have made an offer to sign Raphael Guerreiro.
The Portuguese left-back has made more than 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 side despite only signing in 2013.
Liverpool are in great need of backup in the left fullback position with Alberto Moreno proving to be less capable than originally thought when he transferred from Sevilla.
“For now four major foreign clubs, including Dortmund and Liverpool have made an offer,” Hayes said. It seems Liverpool can rarely identify a target these days without Dortmund or Tottenham already seeking the player’s services.
Guerreiro has acquired a good reputation during his time in France and if Hayes’ word is good to go by Klopp will have identified the Portuguese fullback as ideal competition for Moreno. Liverpool’s German manager seems to be intent on shoring up Liverpool’s leaky defence with Loris Karius and Joël Matip already secured.
