Jordan Henderson has a foot injury, confirms Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers. During the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Bournemouth the Englishman was subbed in the 52nd minute for Emre Can.

Liverpool’s number 14 set Christian Benteke up for the winner which in the 25th minute . The goal was very contentious as Coutinho appeared to be in an offside position when the ball came in and made an attempt to touch the ball before it reached Benteke.

“He had a problem with the bottom of his foot,” Rodgers about his captain after the victory. “He hadn’t trained for part of the week.

“He was taking some painkillers with it, and did ever so well to even be out on the field. He wanted to give it a go, but you could see he was limited in his running.

“He did great for us when he was on the pitch, but it’s important we have fit players on the field, and unfortunately he was just in too much pain.”

Liverpool fans will be nervous as to whether or not Henderson will be fit for their game against Arsenal on August 24th.
