Rickie Lambert signed for West Bromwich Albion yesterday morning and within several hours was playing his first game for the club. On his debut the Englishman grabbed two goals to seal a fairytale move from his boyhood club. His first took the biggest of deflections and his second was a good finish from a cross.
Tony Pulis, manager of West Brom, was full of praise for his new signing. He mentions how in order for the move to be made possible Lambert accepted a smaller wage than what he was receiving at Liverpool. This speaks volumes of the character of the man and of the generation of footballer passing through and out of existence. Listening Sterling?
